Hello! It's been awhile since I last posted something. The reason: I was trying to clean out old items in my room and basement. I am afraid that I may become a hoarder (which I practically am). Cleaning is taking a long time because I want to properly dispose of things rather than simply throwing everything into the trash. The basement especially had a lot of old items that needed proper disposal.
There were many nostalgic items I found in my room. One being this hand-held hair braiding machine:
The braiding machine was a gift from my cousins. I tried using it before, but my hair always easily got tangled.
There was a pair of plastic glasses with a big nose. I remember I got this from Eastside Mario's, hoping it was groucho glasses, but it wasn't. The glasses never stayed on my face, so I never had the chance to wear it for more than a minute.
There was a small collection of old led containers from my elementary to high school days. It goes to show how much led I used back in school. I switched to using pens only for school in my last year of high school.
I found some cute perfume samples in glass tubes around my desk area. This one time I forgot I had a perfume tube in my pocket. I washed my clothes and by the time I retrieved my clothes from the dryer, everything smelled like the perfume. Luckily the perfume tube didn't break.
I had to throw out empty pens from my pen collection. The grip --the exterior of the pen-- was all slimy and sticky for some reason.
There was a pile of paper and plastic bags I recycled. This one especially was decorated by a friend for me.
I also went through a pile of old artworks from grade school. I kept them until now because I thought they were adorable and interesting.
The outer space one glows in the dark.
Even after almost 3 months of cleaning, I have a lot of things to clear out. It makes me not want to clean and just let everything be. I mean, what am I to do with over 5 boxes of crayons?! Maybe I'll donate it to the nearest daycare.

What I found while cleaning my room 3

I was reorganizing shelves in my room and found SD Gundam Force figurines. I forgot I had them. Each figurine was in a box and their boxes were in a larger box at the back of one of my shelves. I also found a few empty DS boxes.

I found acrylic paint! I don't know how old most of them are. There was a swan looking thing sitting on the top of one of my shelves. I think it was used as a flower pot at one point. It used to be my cousin's (I think) until they moved to Shanghai, China many years ago.

Home-made swan... thingI had to compost the onion that was growing in my room. It was growing some form of fuzzy fungus on its underside.

What I found in my room 4

Lookie lookie at what I found in my room. A pikachu and a Transversion tag. If you press the pikachu's stomach, it makes a "pikachu" noise. It can make two different noises. I've been trying to make out the pattern they follow, but noise 1 and 2 always seem to be randomly played. Transversion Loop of New York is a fashion brand that usually makes bags and carrying accessories. I decided to keep the bag's tag because it's made of plastic.

Money!! I need 50 cents in change to take the nearest bus to the closest GO bus station. Keeping money ready-to-go on the table is pretty handy when you're in a rush. I tend to run out of change in my wallets from buying food, so I often don't have money to take the bus.My pet rock Rocky sits in front of my computer monitor everyday. It's been sitting there long enough for dust to collect. Mwaha.
I didn't plant the onion as planned. It's still in my room. Growing. Don't mind the messy desk in the background.

What I found in my room 3
THE ONION. It grows!
My father gave the onion water Saturday afternoon, but it still grew about 10 centimeters on its own without soil or liquid water since the last post about it. I'm thinking about planting it in the backyard in a few days. I wonder if it will still grow after planting it.

What I found in my room 2
Remember the onion I mentioned being used as a stink absorber in my room? Well, I woke up one morning and noticed it had something green on it. To my surprise, a plant was growing. It's been exposed to sunlight but I never watered it or put it in soil. I guess onions don't need soil. Maybe the water in the air replaced the need for liquid water? Should I be worried about it growing?I guess I'll let it continue growing until I feel it needs to be thrown out. It may start growing fungi on it like the onion before it.

What I found in my room

I haven't cleaned my room in the last few months. I've been busy sleeping, reading, typing or going to social events around Toronto. The garbage in my room keeps piling up and my father, a man who likes the house to be at least semi-clean, said "enough is enough--your room stinks." Surprisingly, he didn't comment on the mess on the floor.
When I arrived home from school on Wednesday and walked into my room, I noticed it smelled different. The air smelled clean and clear. I put away my school bag, went down to the kitchen, and there my father asked me, "how do you like the onion? Does your room smell better?" I answered, "what onion?" I went back to my room and there was an onion across from my bed. In a candle cup.
So onions can absorb smells... ? That's neat. Now I don't have to spend more than $3 buying a can of air freshner. I stopped trusting air freshners and stuck to opening windows at one point in life. Freshners don't work very well with me--they make the house smell worse.

Another few things I found in my room: a whale eraser, a dolphin eraser, and a mini artbook by my dear friend Siena.

Binoculars
I am sad!
I've been trying to find my binoculars in my dump of a room for over 3 months. I thought I would find it by January, but there's no sign of it anymore! I'm going to throw out a lot of decade-old junk this Friday. Hopefully I'll find it then.
I'll have to break and modify some of the old furniture in my room. They're so old and broken that I don't use them for anything but store my parents, sister, and cousin's old and unwanted junk. I know that a lot of the stuff I will throw out can be recycled, but I don't think the local recycling depot and collectors can take them.
Binoculars, life is becoming boring without you!

What I found while cleaning my room 2
My room is stuffed with stuff. I even have large boxes of I-don't-know-what. I reorganized my room a little and took pictures of things I found while cleaning it.
My sister wanted to get rid of a bookshelf in her room, and I needed a bookshelf so I took it. I put my collection of empty ramune bottles and empty Qoo drinks on the bottom shelf. On my computer monitor there was a tablet, a rock, and One Piece keychains (I believe that is what they are called). I remember my sister coming home with the rock claiming it was my new pet rock. ("._.) The One Piece keychains were from Gacha capsule machines.
In front of my computer monitor are chopsticks elevaters (or holders--whatever you prefer to call them). I think the rest of the collection is in the dining room. They're all made of porcelain (I hope) and feel really nice and smooth. One of the reasons I like them is because of their smooth shapes. The last few items I found in my room were a gundam and a zaku (I hope I got them right). They're covered in 7 months worth of dust. I don't clean my models until the summer. Heh. ... I see CDs in the background of the picture.

What I found while cleaning my room 1
What I found while cleaning my room were grade 4 to 8 papers. I made two piles of paper to recycle and tied them up with dried-grass-looking string. The piles were each more than 2 inches high.
Looking at the piles of paper made me think about all the paper wasted over the years just so that this one academically challenged kid may enter into a high school and then a post-secondary institution. Most of the pages in the workbooks (with pre-printed work in them) from all the grades were empty, because the teacher didn't have enough time to get to them. Many of the sheets of paper were also used for research purposes and print out research information from the internet.
I guess there is a plus side to using a laptop: you don't need to use paper anymore to carry information around. What would be inconvenient is if the battery died and there is no way of getting it charged or replacing it. That's what I believe.
... I also found a 1998 Furby.
