Tied to the floor with work

Too much information... must... finish... projects.

I'll be spending a little more time with school for now. After my project season and examination weeks, I will be posting about... stuff. XD I plan to visit a few shops in downtown Toronto some time during my winter break. Hopefully I can upload countless scheduled shop spot posts. I do not know if I will be attending December's Toronto anime con yet. I have an examination on that weekend and may have an appointment for something as well.

Let's see... what else is there to type about.

Oh yeah. Explanation to the image in this post: it is the dusty keyboard of my laptop I usually use. I have a computer with a CPU, a monitor, and all, but I always end up having technical difficulties with it.

There may not be any posts until after December 20, 2009 unless I find myself attending December's Toronto anime con.

Words we may move to

A lot of people feel like shit after they go through shit, do shit, and don't know what shit to do later. We always need to find something that inspires us. Don't wait for the good things to come to you: we all have to work towards the good things at a nice pace, or else we'll lose ourselves and give-up.

November-December

November and December: the month of tedious, time-consuming, activities.

There are so many things to do! Argh!!! I feel like biting off the head of an animal cracker! RAWR!!! I am tied between finishing both small and large assignments for school, having to study for up coming examinations, participating in extra curricular activities, worrisome health issues, a heavy-load of readings and research, and and *breaks*... (._.) I think I may need two robot arms and legs to help with supporting the weight I have to carry each day. The books I carry feels like they're breaking down my spine. I don't want to shrink because of that! I'm already averagely short enough!!! (>TOT)>

... Okay, I'm done complaining. Time for sleep! Maybe I'll see a squirrel tomorrow!

I love sleep.

Shop Spot: Broadcast Entertainment and Fantasia

This store's like a typical Asian gift shop packed with books, Cd's, DVDs, decorated plastic folders, stationery, key chains, plushies, bags, collectible figures, birthday cards, and whatever gift shop-like products you can think of.The best thing about Broadcast is that they always sell popular products. For example, if Hello Kitty is a popular product in the market, they'll have Hello Kitty pencil cases, book, wallets, toys, key chains, and such on sale. Right now they've got products of Domo, Gloomy bear, Anpan man, and several other adorable looking characters in stock.

They have a membership system where you earn points everytime you purchase something. I forgot what happens when you collect a lot of points though... heh.

Broadcast Entertainment and Fantasia actually has a store specialized for Asian CD's, DVDs, and magazines located in Pacific Mall (Markham, Ontario, Canada). They have a second store in Pacific Mall that sells discs and gifts. The second store is one of the oldest stores in the Mall. (-July 2012 edit- The second store was closed this past year, but another branch was reopened in the mall.)

I scanned one of their plastic bags. XD Here's an image of a few things you may find in one of Broadcast's shops:

Grandma

My grandmother's dying. She's in the hospital and the nurse asked us if we'd like to let her go when her heart stops or if we'd like them to keep her around longer. Considering that my grandmother keeps trying to take out her oxygen provider every time we turn our heads. ,_, She can't swallow anything anymore, and it's hard for her to breath. I don't think she'll last another day.

Impressive Cosplay

I was at YAMA Anime Manga Association's Halloween event on October 29, 2009 and they were having a cosplay contest!

There were 7 cosplayers: each added their own touch to the character they were cosplaying as. Rock Lee (Naruto) had his sake bottle and poses, Black Star (Soul Eater) had his spiked up hair and his "Black Star was here" posters (the lady put up posters around the building), man in drag had his pants on under his micro skirt, Naruto (Naruto) had his super spinning blue yo-yo, pink lolita rabbit girl had her elegant stand, Scyther (Pokémon) had his blade gloves and moving mouth, and Hello Kitty Kenpachi had his head on. The Black Star and Naruto cosplayers are actually female. :P

Rock Lee vs. Hello Kenpachi with sound effects!

I have a third video, but it won't upload on YouTube. I'll update this post if it ever uploads.

Conclusion: York University has skilled cosplayers.

Influenza?

I think I've been hanging around outside too much. That or I'm eating too much candy.

I was out walking around Scarborough on Saturday night for almost 3 hours, and I was out putting away leaves into bags in the backyard for about 3 hours yesterday. My throat has been feeling very dry and it hurts a little when I swallow. I've been sneezing, getting slight headaches, and feeling light headed too.

I'm trying to drink lots of water and tea to flush out whatever is making me feel this way. Hopefully I won't get sick.

I have to say that if I catch the flu, it is not because I went out trick-or-treating. It is because I ate candy: I always get sick after eating too much sour patch kids or fuzzy peach.

I remember reading somewhere (from a long time ago) that people are more likely to get sick in warm indoors than cool outdoors. It said something about germs liking the warmth, and when you walk into a warm building, they are waiting for you. XD

Halloween

I went trick-or-treating with my little sister, Madeline, and Dharshi. I checked out a few people on the Internet who are older than I am, and they're going trick-or-treating too. I guess as long as I'm not over 25, it's okay for me to go out door-to-door on Halloween nights. :P It's free lunch snacks, and considering how much the media's trying to freak out residents about the dangers of H1N1 on Halloween and how little kids these days think they're too cool to go trick-or treating, I believe I've got good reasons to go out and get the candy that candy givers prepared.

What bothered me about Halloween though, was that my grandmother was sent to the hospital. She fell, and when the doctors did a check up on her, they found that her kidney's not functioning properly. I still don't know if going out for Halloween instead of visiting her in the hospital was the right thing to do. My mom checked with my uncle (who was at the hospital with grandma) and said that due to H1N1, the hospital won't let more than 2 visitors per patient.
